Outfit of the Week: Bohemian Rhapsody

I stopped by Mission Mart $5 bag sale to actually look for some things for my 14 year old son.  He needed some specific items for an upcoming choir concert.  We found the black button up shirt and the black leather shoes for the concert!   We have been "praying in" these items for a couple of months now. The shoes were Nunn Bush and had hardly been worn for just 5 bucks!  Yay!

Then he found two more really cool single color button up shirts.  By that time, I realized that the regular price of shirts was $2.99 each.  So, we might as well do an entire bag for the $5 bag sale.

So, I went through the racks and came up with some really fine finds!  Three of these items became the Outfit of the Week!

This is me:  Super happy because I fit 11 items into my $5 bag!

Let's See What I Found!

This long, pleated skirt swirls as I twirl!  I love it!  The neutral color pattern gives me several options for tops to pair with it.  Falling to just above my ankles, it has a definite gypsy or bohemian feel to it.

If you've not read or watched them, check out this post post with a video link.  I explain to you why you should keep a couple of basic black shirts on hand, because they are so versatile.  They can be worn with something like this skirt for a casual look or paired a long, black skirt and a shiny, glam jacket or scarf. You can instantly transform it into something very formal.

This shirt is a perfect example.  Look at that fantastic beading, adorning the neckline!

Here is a close-up of the ornamentation. Stunning!  It's just along the neckline though.  So, you can still put on a necklace for added bling.

The sweater is Lizzsport.  I'll show you a couple of close-ups of the material.   I never buy a piece of clothing simply because it is a nationally known brand.  I buy what I like.  But, it was a great brand for a fantastic price! The sleeves are extra long and the fabric-covered buttons are beautiful.  It was in absolutely perfect condition!

Check out the little beads sewn into the fabric of the sweater!  They are equally distributed throughout the material.  So pretty!

The necklace came from a garage sale for $1.00!

The Complete Outfit:

Here's how I put it all together.  The three pieces we talked about today were just 45¢ each.  Plus the $1.00 necklace.

The Grand Total:  Just $2.35!

Yay!  You just can't beat shopping second-hand!  Seriously!  I just can't imagine paying retail prices!  Tell us about your thrift store victories in the comments!
