I Got This Week's Groceries for $31!

Three Stores and $31.00!!

This week I went to three stores. I found sale and markdown items galore at each location.

Let's see how I spent just $30.85

Store #1: Kroger

Total: $18.59

Every single item was a Markdown!

2 pounds sugar snap peas - $3.99
2 - 1 pound containers of organic baby spinach - $2.99 each
1 pound container of organic spring mix - $2.99
4 boxes of Chex cereal - $.99 each!
1 bottle of Bolthouse Farms plant based milk - $1.49

Hey readers! Have you tried this plant-based milk? I haven't. But, for $1.49 it was worth a gamble.

Store #2: HyVee

Strawberries - $5.71 for 6 pounds!

They were on sale for $1.88 for 2 pounds. This was the last day of the sale.

TIP: Don't be afraid to go to a store on the last day of a sale. Often stores overstock sale items and still have plenty on hand. If they don't, head to the Courtesy Desk and ask for a rain check. A rain check allows you to receive the sale price anytime - up to 30 days past the sale date.

Store #3: GFS

Total Cost: $6.55

The only item in the photo which was not a markdown were the light yellow-green bananas. All the rest of the items were just $5.00 in total!

Regular Price:

Bananas - $1.50

Markdowns:

Overripe bananas - $.75
Large white onion - $.25
2 Pound bag onions - $2.00
Large tomato - $.50
Bagels - $1.50
