My First PINCHme Box!

Here's what I got:

* I received each of these as a free sample from PINCHme.

RXBAR Kids - double chocolate bar!
Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask
1850 K-cup coffee
Pure-Clay Detox & Brighten Charcoal Mask
Vermont’s Original Bag Balm

These reviews represent my honest opinions. I have not been paid to review these products.

Pure-Clax Detox and Brighten Charcoal Mask

I have read much over the years about the medicinal and health uses of activated charcoal.  So, this sample was really interesting to me!  I am 54 years old and have noticed recently that I was having some minor skin outbreaks.  So, I already knew that I needed to thoroughly cleanse and detox my skin.  That's why I was excited to give the Pure-Clay Detox and Brighten Charcoal Mask a try!  Upon opening the package,  I first noticed the texture of the clay.  The fine texture felt silky, smooth, and cooling on my skin.

It went on in a nice, even layer.  The sample was more than adequate - in fact, I probably have enough left over to do another mask!  As the mask dried it tightened, but was not uncomfortable in any way.

It took a little more work to get it washed off than I thought it would.  But, a damp washrag made quick work of the process.  My advice is to plan ahead and moisten a washrag with some warm water ahead of time and have it ready.

My skin was left feeling soft and very clean!  This mask was very refreshing and I would purchase it for regular use!

Vermont's Original Bag Balm

I haven't purchased Vermont's Original Bag Balm since I had babies.  Many years ago I used it to combat stubborn diaper rash.  At the age of 54, I'm way past babies and into middle age.

Skin dryness is a constant problem as you get older!  When PINCHme offered a sample, remembering my past positive experience with this product, I jumped at the chance to try it again.  I took actual photos for my blog of my arms - one without Vermont's Original Bag Balm applied and the other with this amazing product.  There is a marked difference!  Not only does it look better, it feels better.  I will say that this product is pretty thick.  So, my arm felt a little "sticky" for a while after applying it.  But, after a few minutes, the bag balm penetrated my moisture-thirsty arm.  I did not put it on my dry feet.  But, that is next on my agenda!  I would absolutely purchase this product - specially for use during the dry winter months.

RXBAR Kids:

I don't purchase many snack bars for my kids.  I'm a "real food" kind of Mom.  But, when PINCHme offered a sample of RXBAR for Kids, I was intrigued.  We got the chocolate variety.  My 10 and 14 year old taste testers, both declared it to be very yummy.  This is important to note, because we have tried several kinds of bars with mixed reviews.  So, this was a great sign!  The both enjoyed the chunks of chocolate sprinkled throughout the bar.  They also noted that it was a little chewier than they had expected.  But, this was not detrimental to their enjoyment of the bars.  Both boys gave the RXBAR for Kids "two thumbs up".

Garnier Fructis Nourishing Treat 1 Minute Hair Mask

The coconut extract had my attention right away!  These days we all have a list of ingredients on our personal "watch list."  That's why I appreciated that Garnier Fructis had prominently displayed a long list of damaging (or some would say dangerous) ingredients on the front of the package. These questionable ingredients  are not in this product.

The instructions on the pack of the package listed three ways the product could be used.  Two of them included using it in the shower and then rinsing it out.  The third was to massage it into your damp hair and then leave it in.  Since I had just showered and had still damp hair, I chose this method.

Look how creamy it is!  And the smell was divine!  I used about twice this amount to do the ends of my hair.  As I have aged, my hair has become much drier.  This has resulted in a brittle feel with some flyaway ends.  Now I have really, really long hair!  So, I didn't know how much I would need to use.  But, I used just half of the generous-sized sample packet.  It did not make my hair feel greasy and did make it more manageable and less dry feeling.  I would certainly try it on a longer-term basis to see if it would make me feel better about my middle-aged hair!

1850 K-Cup Coffee

1850 Coffee is a subsidiary of Folgers!  For years I have not bought Folgers.  But, this coffee is a game-changer!  1850 coffee comes in four flavors.  My sample was Pioneer Blend, which is listed as a medium blend.  Wow!  What flavor!  For being a medium roast coffee, it had deep, rich flavor and an amazing aroma!  I would definitely purchase this coffee, especially if I found it on sale!  Gotta satisfy the budget-minded, deal-seeking, thrifty side of my personality!

Do you PINCH?

This is my first month and I'm ready to give it another "go"!  If I get more samples, I'll be sure to report on my findings.  If you'd like to join me, remember to go to this link to sign up.  It's totally free!!  Are you already a member of PINCHme?  If so, do you like it?  Comment below!

  1. Our Kroger had the RXbar on the free Friday download not to long ago. I didn't get it because it had egg whites or otherwise I would have. I have a hard time giving Malakhi anything that I know is bad for him. Signed up for pinch me. Thanks for the tip

  2. I saw the egg whites as an ingredient too, I went ahead and gave it to the boys. I let them get the Friday Freebie one too. Phil said that one was HORRIBLE! At least it gave him a frame of reference for the one from the PINCHme box. He said that this RXBAR was really good.
